100-day letter

Dear friends,

Today marks the 100th day of my incarceration with no reasonable justification. My arbitrary and unjust detention continues even though I have not been charged with any offense. As a result, I have been prevented from carrying out my responsibilities as the duly elected Mayor of Tirana.

My continued detention is not just an attack on me and my family, but represents an unnecessary and disproportionate interference in the performance of my public duties which the voters of Tirana have entrusted to me. Despite my imprisonment, I remain unbroken. And with each passing day, my resolve is strengthened. My commitment to Tirana, to you, democracy, the rule of law, and Albania’s future remains unwavering.

I will continue to pursue all legal options to secure my release so that I can continue to serve our great city as your mayor.

With gratitude for each one of you!
